Pioneer Rivers SWAN Chairman Laid To Rest

The remains of a veteran Sports Journalist and pioneer Chairman of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) of the then old Rivers State, Late Elder Clinton Thompson, was laid to rest at his home town, Okoloba-Ama in Amasoma, Bayelsa State on Saturday.
Speaking while welcoming some sports journalists from Bayelsa State Chapel and Rivers, a brother of the deceased, Chief Wisdom Sony, said the family was happy to welcome them for coming to give their late colleague his last respect and honour due him.
Chief Sony opined that with the demise of their brother, father and friend, a vaccum had been created in the family, but that since dead is a necessary end of everybody, the Will of God had been done, and further thanked and welcomed the sports journalists for their presence.
In his rmarks, the chairman of SWAN, Bayelsa State, Comrade Alambo Datonye, on behalf of the National President of the Association, Comrade Honour Sirawoo and others commensurate with the family and hinted that the late Veteran Sports Journalist was indeed a pillar and technocrat in Sports Journalism profession.
Datonye said late Clinton Thompson popularly called (CT) was a one time General Manager of Radio Bayelsa and that the entire journalists in Bayelsa and Rivers State would miss his creativities and advice, praying God to give the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
The ceremony was also attended by a former General Manager of Radio Bayelsa, Dame Ann Koko Abidde, among others.
