PHALGA PDP Pledges Support For Wike
Members of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) Ward 20 in the Port Harcourt City Local Government Area (PHALGA) have pledged to continue to give support to the Governor Nyesom Wike-led administration and the party in the state.
Political appointees and stakeholders from the ward who gave the assurance last Saturday during an Easter get together party at Abuloma Town Hall in the Port Harcourt, urged the youth and the people of the area to be peaceful and supportive of state government’s efforts at restoring the lost glory of the state.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Primary Health Care in the state, Dr Opuda George at the occasion, reminded the people that no meaningful development can thrive, without peace, advising the youth to ensure that they shun violence and other negative vices that would lead them to crime.
George commended the youth for their composition and assured them that the Governor has several good plans for them.
Also speaking, a member of the state Primary Healthcare Board, Professor Akuro Gobo expressed satisfaction with the conduct of youths all these years, noting that the fact that amnesty was not done in Ward 20 was a credit to the youth and people of the area.
Gobo explained that Ward 20, which is the largest in the state, was able to achieve this because of peace and unity that existed amongst the people, adding that All Progressives Congress (APC) members in the Ward will move over to the PDP soon.
In his remarks, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Emergency and Relief Services, Hon. Bereni Ben Irisofe emphasised that due to the numerous good works of Governor Wike, as being observed by everyone in country in the midst of scarce resources, his people have no choice than to continue to support the governor as they have always done.
Irisofe assured the people of Ward 20 of the Governor’s total commitment to take the area and the entire state to a greater height.
