No Vacancy In Oha Evo Stool – CDC Scribe
The Woji Community in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area says the stool of Eze Oha Evo of Evo Kingdom is not vacant despite attempts by some persons to crown themselves.
The Secretary, Woji community Development Committee (CDC), Surveyor Emmanuel Ichechukwu Ogbonda who said this in an interview with newsmen in the area said that the stool is currently being occupied by HRM Eze Clinton Ogbonda.
Surveyor Ogbonda explained that Eze Clinton Ogbonda has been occupying the stool since 2007, pointing out that some of those who are now installing themselves were among those who nominated Eze Clinton Ogbonda for the stool.
According to him, “The Eze Oha Evo is rotatory among three royal families in Woji, which include Eke, Ogbonda and Chuku families.
“The immediate past Eze Oha Evo, Late HRM Eze J.W. Eke/Eze Frank Eke was from Eke’s family. The next family inline is the Ogbonda family and HRM Eze Clinton Ogbonda has been nominated since 2007 by the people of Woji, with the signatures of Ogbonda family leaders”, he said.
The CDC Secretary said that the disregard to the customs and traditions of Evo Kingdom has not only ridiculed the ancient Eze Oha Evo stool, but also made a mockery of the entire Evo traditional institution.
He appealed to Governor Ezenwo Nyesom Wike to wade into the matter with a view to forestalling breakdown of law and order in the community.
