NCDMB Assures Local Firms Of Support
The Nigerian Content Development Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has assured of its support to indigenous oil and gas companies.
The Executive Secretary of (NCDMB), Simbi Wabote, gave the assurance in Onne, Rivers State when he visited the area as part of facility tour of elected companies in Onne Free Trade Zone.
Wabote promised that the board would work with all stakeholders, operators as well as serving companies to reduce the per barrel and per unit technical cost in the Nigerian oil and gas industry.
The NCDMB Executive Secretary particularly commended the management of AOS Orwell’s Titan Tubular in Onne for the high level of investment and in-country capacity.
Wabote said he was impressed with the equipment and facilities on the ground and explained that the essence of the facility tour was to enable him understand the challenges and prospects of the local companies in the sector.
The Manageing Director of AOS Orwell, Femi Omotayo, said his firm was strongly committed to encouraging Nigerian companies in the sector to play key roles in the critical sector.
He said most of the platforms and other vital facilities produced by his firm were not patronised by the industry players but noted that AOS would continue to exploit opportunities and value retention in-country in the nation’s oil and gas sector.
According to him, it was the confidence his company has in the Nigerian content policy that made his management to commit huge investment in in-country capacity such that the company had recorded series of firsts among indigenous oil field players.
