Monarch Tasks Traditional Rulers On Peace

The paramount ruler of Okoko Clan, Abia State, Eze Nwakama Edward has urged traditional rulers in the Niger Delta to see themselves as symbols of peace in their various communities
Eze Edward who said this shortly after crowning Eze Nwankwo Nwankwo as Ezeala IX of Umuokobo at Umuagba, in Oyigbo Local Government Area stressed the need for people to respect traditional institutions.
The Okoko Clan head who is also the Onye-Nwe-Ala of Ancient Town of Azuogu also urged the newly crowned Chief to use his position to improve the living conditions of his people,
Also speaking, the Chairman of the occasion, Eze (Barrister) Godwin Odum Wabara described the newly installed Chief as the choice for the people, stressing that as a person, he has done well for the community and for Okobo Clan, adding that based on that, the people unanimously endorsed him.
In an address of welcome the Chiefs and people of Umuokobo clan said that the newly installed Eze is the direct descendant of the founder of Okobo Clan, having direct image to Okweleze and Agbai.
The people also described him as their illustrious son, an accomplished administrator, civil, religious and community leader, traditional pathfinder and consummate politician.
According to them, “having served the state meritoriously for eight years as a two-term special adviser, to the Executive Governor of Rivers State in Revenue Generation, he is now the Mbi Uniriezi of Akuwor in Umuagbai.”
In his acceptance speech, Eze Nwankwo Nwankwo said that his new position is a call to render greater service to the people.
