Be More Dedicated To Work, TUC Tells Workers
The Chairman of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) Anambra State chapter, Mr Ifeanyi Okechukwu, yesterday called on workers to be more dedicated to their duties at all time to enhance quality service delivery.
Okechukwu said this while addressing the workers in Enugu after they had resumed from the Easter holidays.
Recall that the Federal Government declared April 14 and April 17 as public holidays for them to celebrate Easter.
Okechukwu said, “With our Workers’ Day celebration fast approaching on May 1, I am calling on workers to put in their best in the service to their motherland.
“It is obvious that our take home pay no longer takes us home; but since we have listening governments both at the Federal and state levels, something good is being expected,” he said.
Also, Head of Anambra Civil Service Commission,Mr Larry Udu, urged workers to be patriotic and discharge their duties with dedication.
“Workers should do their best in their primary places of assignments for the good of the state in particular and the nation in general,” Udu said.
A civil servant, Mr Celestine Okafor, promised to rededicate his time and energy toward promoting the state civil service.
“I know that by being efficient at my job, I am contributing my quota to nation building; while believing that one day, civil servants will be paid enhanced salaries for their efforts,” Okafor said.
