Abductors Of PH Poly Lecturer Demand N24m

Abductors of a lecturer with the Port Harcourt Polytechnic , Mr Shedrack A. Azuka has demanded the payment of N24 million ransom as a condition for his release.
Mr Azuka was abducted along with five others along Ozuzu-Etche Road by unknown gun men on Sunday April 17th, 2017 and since then they have been in the custody of their abductors.
A source from the family said the abductors had at the weekend made a demand of N24 million ransom as the only condition for his release along side the others.
According to the source, the kidnappers also vowed not to release them until their demands were met and added that the family had made an offer of N2 million which they described as too meagre.
He disclosed that they were still in dialogue with the abductors to accept the N2 million offer and added that they were hopeful that the abductors would accept the offer.
It will be recalled that Mr Shedrack A. Azuka who is also the Head, Department of Building Technology and School of Environmental Science at the Port Harcourt Polytechnic was kidnapped with five others at Ozuzu in Etche Local Government Area of the state and have been in the custody of the abductors for about two weeks now.
The chairman of Academic Staff Union Polytechnic, PH Poly Chapter (ASUP), Victor Ossai had called for the unconditional release of their colleague.
