Rangers Ready To Seal Egbuchulam’s Transfer Deal
Rangers International FC of Enugu says it is set to seal a transfer deal involving its top striker, Chisom Egbuchulam, with Tunisian club, Club Africana.
Rangers Media Director, Foster Chime, told newsmen in Enugu yesterday that negotiation between the two clubs over the player had reached an advanced stage.
“Negotiation has been ongoing for some weeks now between the Board of Rangers and the management of Club Africana of Tunisia.
“Within a few days, all things being equal, the transfer deal will be concluded; while one of our top strikers, Chisom Egbuchulam, will officially leave for Tunisia,’’ Chime said.
He, however, said that Rangers’ management was pleased with the transparent manner the transfer process had taken so far.
The media director revealed that the earlier move by the Etoile Sportive Du Sahel to get Egbuchulam failed due to their unofficial approach.
“Etoile Sportive Du Sahel did not go through the appropriate means.
“The club failed to open official communication channels with Rangers, rather it tried to circumvent the extant NFF, CAF and FIFA rules which the board of Rangers rejected,’’ Chime said.
The official said that consequently, a formal complaint was made by Rangers to the appropriate national and international football bodies to stop the deal.
