Senator Hails Appeal Court’s Judgment On Diri

Senator Adawari Pepple has described the Court of Appeal Judgment that declared Adonye Diri winner of the March 19th December election in legislative election of Opobo/Nkoro constituency as a triumph for democracy.

Senator Pepple who commended the Appeal Court ruling in Port Harcourt, described the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declaration after the 19th March 2016 election as a robbery, commending the judiciary for defending democracy and rule of law in Rivers State.

According to him, when people want to take away the right of the people of the constituency it becomes a robbery.

‘’What happened on March 19th 2016 could be described as a robbery, all the units result collated were won by the PDP yet the APC chose to rewrite the results that were not in existence.

He said the judgment has put a seal to whatever APC thought they could steal from Rivers people, particularly, the Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area.

He also said the judgment has proven that Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area belongs to the PDP as against APC’s propaganda, insisting that the APC candidate, Anderson Miller was never on ground to have made him win election in the clared winner by the INEC after the re run election held on March 19th, 2016.
