Rivers Dev: More Groups Hail Wike
More groups have continued to join the Rivers Elders Consultative Council (RECC) to congratulate Governor Nyesom Wike for providing the enabling environment for peace in Rivers State which culminated in the victory of his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the December 10, 2016 re-run elections in the state.
The groups include Rivers Indigenes in the United States of America and Asia, Andoni Vanguard, Coalition of Rivers Patriots, and Ogoni Foundation for Peace.
In a statement in their Twitter handle, and credited to the spokesperson, the Rivers Indigenes in United States and Asia, Dr Dagogo Simon Ezekiel–Hart, commended Wike for his giant development strides in all facets of infrastructural renewal in the state.
They further urged the governor to run an all-inclusive administration, and wished him a happy birthday anniversary and Merry Christmas in advance.
The Andoni Vanguard also commended Governor Nyesom Wike for putting Andoni first in the allocation of developmental projects, saying that the completion of the Ogoni-Opobo-Andoni Road would open the areas to unprecedented socio-economic development, and reduce crime and criminality in the state.
In a statement, Publicity Secretary of Andoni Vanguard, Hon. Gabriel Abia-Ntegun, said the organization was elated at the progress so far made by the governor in transforming the state, and wished the governor God’s guidance and protection as he pilots the affairs of the state.
Similarly, the Coalition of Rivers Patriots has expressed joy with the purposeful administration of Governor Nyesom Wike in Rivers State.
In a statement issued and signed by Barrister Thompson Barilede, the group commended the governor for his philosophy of rewarding the loyalty of Rivers people who voted massively for him and the Peoples Democratic Party in 2015 with developmental projects.
The group listed such projects to include the rehabilitation of general hospitals across the state, reconstruction of internal roads in Port Harcourt, Okrika, Obio/Akpor, Omoku and other parts of the state.
Also, Ogoni Foundation for Peace, lauded the outstanding contributions of Governor Nyesom Wike’s administration in the development of the state, especially the governor’s decision to dualise the Saakpenwa-Bori-Kono Road as well as complete the Ogoni/Andoni Unity Road which was abandoned by previous administrations in Rivers State.
Speaking with newsmen in Port Harcourt, the General Secretary of Ogoni Foundation for Peace, Comrade Euh–Kebari described Wike as a rare breed, and a new generation leader in Rivers State, stressing that the governor has become a source of pride to the down-trodden in the state.
