Stakeholder Advises Couples On Love, Tolerance

Minister of Umuotube Chokota community in Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State, Chief Kemakolom Nwanuo, has identified love and tolerance as the only ingredients that keep marriage alive in any society, and charged couples to bring these to bear in their marriages.
Chief Nwanuo, who is the Onuowu 1 of Umuotube Chokota community, gave the charge while speaking with newsmen during the traditional marriage ceremony of Mr. Uchechi Nwanuo and his heartthrob at Umuarim Ulakwo 1 in Etche Local Government Area recently.
The traditional prime minister commended his brother for fulfilling his traditional marriage rites in accordance with the Etche Customs and tradition, adding that by doing so, he had traditionally married his wife and joined the league of true men in the society.
He urged the couple to continue to love and respect each other and to make tolerance their watchword, noting that there was no perfection and graduation in marriage.
Chief Nwanuo further enjoined the couple to make God the centre of their marriage and avoid bringing third parties into their private matters, saying, in that way, they would be able to build confidence and mutual trust for each other, and thanked the people of the area for their show of love towards him and his brother.
Also speaking, the wife of the traditional Prime Minister, Mrs Josephine Ikem Nwanuo advised the couple to cherish each other no matter the condition they find themselves and to imbibe the fear of God in all their endeavours, as it was the only way they could overcome challenges of marriage life.
On his part, the groom, Mr. Uchechi Nwanuo thanked the Almighty God for making the marriage celebration a reality and the people for their support.
