Yombe, a one time Air Mobile Brigade Commander Nigerian Army, Bori Camp, Port Harcourt, who disclosed this to newsmen at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, on his way to Abuja after a visit to Port Harcourt to participate in a gulf tournament, said that he was impressed with the way things are going on in Port Harcourt.

“People are smiling, inspite of the economic challenges, between airport and Igwuruta, you see houses here and there.

“It took us two hours to go between Air-Assault Gulf Course to Hotel Presidential. There was terrible go-slow and this means that a lot of people are in Port Harcourt doing business.

“You cannot buy car if you do not have money and you cannot maintain them if you don’t have money. The city is continuously developing fast, economically and socially.

“Governor Wike is doing pretty well. It is not easy this time in the country because of economic recession, but I see that the governor and his team are doing the best they can. I praise them for what they are doing”, Yombe said.                He, however, advised Rivers people to keep politics aside and come together to build Rivers State.

“They should forget about political wranglings and live in harmony with each other. God has chosen the leaders and you can never be a leader if God has not chosen you, no matter how much you spend and what you do. It is God that makes the king”, he said.

The former Bori-Camp Brigade Commander also described Rivers people as hospitable and homely.
