Commissioner Urges Boards To Protect Communities’ Interest
Rivers State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Prince John Bazia, has charged Community Administrative Boards to always protect the collective interest of the communities they represent in any cooperative establishment.
Bazia stated that when the collective interest of host communities are protected by their representatives, it would create room for peaceful atmosphere for multinationals to do business and invest in the communities.
The commissioner gave the charge at the inaugurating of Elem Ifo Community Administrative Board, in his office in Port Harcourt, on Friday.
Chairman of the Elem Ifo Administrative Board, Robert Obebera promised to interface with the people in addressing any challenge the community may have.
Regent of Elem Ifo Community, Prince Amaibe Hombe thanked governor Nyesom Wike and the commissioner for setting up the board and also assured of adequate security for multinationals in the community Elem Ifo is an oil rich community in the Degema local government area of Rivers State.
