RSG Unveils 20 CTC Chairs, Today …Advocates Leadership Training For Children
The Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike will swear in the 20 chairmen of Local Government Caretaker Committees screened and cleared by the state House of Assembly today, by 10am .
A statement by the Special Assistant to the Rivers State Governor on Electronic Media, Simeon Nwakaudu, said that all the caretaker committee chairmen should be seated by 9.30am at the Executive Council Chambers of the Government House, Port Harcourt.
Meanwhile, the Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike has called for the grooming of children in the art of leadership so that the nation can witness sustained development.
In an address at the Centenary Celebration Thanksgiving of the Saint Michael’s Anglican Church, Rumuomasi Deanery, yesterday, the governor said that with children learning the art of leadership early in life, they will become proficient before they become adults.
The governor, who was represented by his wife, Justice Eberechi Suzzette Nyesom-Wike said,“we must encourage children to get involved in the process of leadership.
“When children are groomed early, they will perfect the art of leadership and contribute to the development of the society”.
Wike noted that all children, whether they are male or female should be given the opportunity to grow in life.
He congratulated Saint Michael’s Anglican Church, Rumuomasi Deanery on their centenary celebration, noting that the chuck has contributed to the growth of Christianity over the years.
The governor called on the church to continue to pray for peace in the state so that development can be entrenched in all communities.
The wife of the governor, adopted a boy, Kelvin Chike Obilor, who is a member of the church choir, for his proficiency in music ministration.
In his sermon, Rt Rev. Innocent Ordu , Bishop of Evo Diocese called on the church to package her members to be development agents in the society.
He said that the church should always work towards resolving the challenges facing its host communities.
As part of the centenary celebration of the church, Wike was conferred with an award of excellence for his outstanding performance in office.
