Rivers Cricket League To Commence Next Month
Organisers of the Rivers
State Cricket league says the 2016/2017 season will kick-off in the state next month.
One of the organisers of the competition Tonye Timinadi, disclosed this at the weekend in an interview with Tidesports in Port Harcourt.
According to him, a meeting has already been fixed for this weekend to decide on the commencement date and other necessary arrangements of the competition.
This would be the sixth edition of the league, and it has always been contested for amongst four Cricket Clubs in the state”, Timinadi said.
Meanwhile, the four cricket Clubs to participate in the league include Whales, Parthers, K-11 and Benvic.
Timinadi noting that the clubs are now preparing adequately for the task ahead in order to compete favourably at the competition.
The organisers have promised to make this edition to be hitch-free and a memorable one for both league followers and participants.
It would be recalled that the Benvic Cricket Club is the defending Champions for the 2015/2016 edition.
