NDDC Warns Against Fake Agric Forms
The Niger Delta De
velopment Commission (NDDC), has warned the public to ignore forms allegedly being circulated by the commission for enrolment for agriculture.
The Acting Managing Director of the Commission, Ibim Semenitari gave the warning in Port Harcourt on Friday.
The statement was issued by the Commission’s Head of Corporate Affairs, Chijioke Nnamdi. The statement added that the Commission’s Directorate of Agriculture and Fisheries was not responsible for the forms.
Describing the development as a scam, the statement further frowned at the manner the name of the Acting Managing Director has been used to defraud Nigerians.
In a related development, the issue of empowering operators of illegal refineries towards legitimizing their operation is still attracting reactions.
The latest is coming from the member, representing Ego Ikpoteba Constituency in the House of Representatives.
The Federal lawmaker said the illegal refining of petroleum products is continuing because persons given license to build refineries by previous administrations have failed to do so.
He said the number of illegal refineries springing up daily despite the destruction of such bases, shows that the operators may have technical skills that the government needs to tap in to solve Nigeria’s problem of the importation of fuel.
