Acting Vice Chancellor of the university Prof. Joseph Kinanee made this known at a congregation meeting and mobilization for the forthcoming 33rd and 34th Convocation ceremony of the University.
Kinanee stated that the commencement of the post graduate programme was sequel to the full accreditation of programmes granted the University by the Nigerian University Commission (NUC) in its last Needs Assessment of facilities in the University.
“NUC made it mandatory that before you commence PG Programmes, you must have accreditation of certain percentage of your programmes …. Since we were able to get full accreditation, we are now set to start PG Programmes”, he said.
According to him, forms are currently on sale towards ensuring that PG Programmes commence in the next academic session.
Meanwhile, the Ag. VC also used the form to announce the availability of fund through the TET Fund for Sponsorship of qualified Staff to conferences geared towards developing the individuals and the University at large.
Sponsorship, he explained, is however not automatic because applicants for sponsorship are required to satisfy stated criteria.
