Falcons Coach Impressed With Players Build Up

coach, Florence Omagbemi said she was impressed with the players build up.
Omagbemi also assured Nigerians that the team will do everything possible to retain the African Women Championship (AWC) title.
In a statement on the Nigeria Football Federation’s website, the coach noted that though the foreign-based players were yet to arrive, she was happy with the team’s form.
The Tidesports reports that the team is currently in camp ahead of the 10th AWC in Cameroon.
“I am impressed with the sessions I have had with the ladies. It’s a process and we,ve just started.
“We want to build from where we stopped from the qualifiers because I still have the players we used to execute those matches.
“We are just waiting for the foreign–based players to join the team and we will continue.
“When we get to Cameroonwe will take each and every of our matches one at a time, but right now the main objective is to prepare the team well for the tournament.
“I know that everyone is expecting us to go to Cameroon to do well. By God’s grace, with sound preparation we will do well,” Omagbemi said.
The overseas based Super Falcons players expected are, Rita Chikwelu (Umea IK, Sweden), Ngozi Okobi (Vittsjo FC, Sweden); Faith Ikidi (Pitea IF, Sweden) and Ngozi Ebere (PSG Ladies,France).
Others are Evelyn Nwabuoku (Avant Guingamp,France),  Desire Oparanozie (Avant Guingamp,France), Francisca Ordega (Washington Spirit, USA) and Asisat Oshoala (Arsenal Ladies).
The Falcons, currently the defending champions, have won the title seven times out of the nine editions.
The team is pitched in Group B alongside Mali, Kenya and Ghana in the tournament scheduled to hold from November 19 to December 3.
