Ezeji Testimonial: MOC Assures Fans Of Successful Event

The Chairman of the Main Organising Committee (MOC) of Victor Ezeji Testimonial match, China Acheru has said that arrangement have been concluded to host a successful testimonial game for Victor Ezeji.
He stated that the event is scheduled to hold second week of December, this year, saying that Ezeji is one of the most decorated players in Nigeria, especially in Nigeria Professional Football league (NPFL).
Acheru said this in a press briefing, at the Garden City 98.9FM Radio premises, in Port Harcourt, adding that the event would start with media parley with fans, the game proper aid followed by a dinner party with thanksgiving on Sunday.
“In February when he officially ended his career he had a press conference in Lagos and a lot of people asked why Lagos, why not Port Harcourt, you are a Port Harcourt boy, you played most of your games for Sharks and Dolphins, and he (Ezeji) said no there will be a bigger one that will be in Port Harcourt”, Acheru said.
According to him, Ezeji is the third most decorated player in Nigeria.
“I think the only two Nigerian players that are more decorated than him are Nwankwo Kanu and John Mikel Obi, so I think we need to honour somebody like this and that is why we are here to let you know a great footballer has decided to stop playing football”, he stated.
Ezeji started his professional career with Sharks in 1996, he also played for Eagle Cement later Dolphins, Enyimba, Sunshine Stars and Heartland.
He won the league with Dolphins in 2004, three FA Cup titles in 2004, 2006 and 2007.
While in Enyimba, he also won league title, CAF Champions league and CAF Super Cup.
With Sharks he further won WAFU Cup between 2008 – 2012.
The testimonial match is expected to witness notable footballer, like Finidi George, Imama Amapakabo, Peter Rafai and others.
