Delta, Firm To Partner On Land Title Issuance
The Delta State
Government has restated its determination to ensure transparency in land administration in the state.
In furtherance of this, the DSG has launched an Information Communication and Technology (ICT) centre.
According to The Tide source the setting up of the centre was in partnership with Queensbridge Investment Limited, based in the state and aimed at fastracking the issuance of Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) to land owners, while boosting the internally generated revenue (IGR) base of the state.
The statement indicates that the state Deputy Governor, Kingsley Otuaro, who commissioned the centre, enjoined the people of the state to acquire their C of Os at an affordable rate, asserting that the centre would provide an inclusive database by completely digitalising the manual C of O and all land documentations.
The Deputy Governor noted that the centre would be manned by the partner organisation to service the Ministry of Lands and Survey, stressing that the process is expected to be transparent and would ease the bottleneck in securing C of O.
Additionally, he said the process would help check fraudulent practices of land grabbers, estate agents, surveyors and generate revenue for the state.
