Council Vows To Adopt No Work, No Pay Rule

tee Chairman of Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area, Hon Titus Wakama, says his administration will adopt the policy of ‘no work no pay’ on the council staff.
Wakama, who stated this while swearing-in the council’s caretaker committee Members at Ogu, said it was no longer business as usual as the era of sit at home by the workers only to smile to the banks for their salaries at the end of the month was over.
He enjoined all directors to open attendance register of staff to sign-in and sign-out daily.
Promising to clear all bush paths to Ogu and Bolo, as well as fix all pot holes, he charged the caretaker committee members to work as a team to ensure the development of the area.
He assured that he would consolidate on the gains of the past administration on education, health among others and inaugurate a committee to retrieve all council property including vehicles from former political appointees of the council.
Wakama also assigned portfolios to members of the committee which include Elder Theophilus Tubomie, Supervisor for Education, Mrs Felicia Iyama, Women Affairs and Agriculture, Chief Victor Columbus Nangibo, Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development, Mrs Tamunoibuomi Adolphus, Health, Mr Obed Tamuno Senior, Works and Transport and Mr Johnson Alalengi, Youth and Social Development.
He also announced the appointment of Steve Ibasimama Davids as Secretary to the Council and Precious Sydney Wakama as Chief of Staff.
In his speech, the Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party in Ogu/Bolo, Hon Arnold Davids charged the caretaker committee members to project the image of the party by working in synergy with the chairman and principal officers to ensure the peace and progress of the area.
Responding on behalf of the caretaker committee members, Obed Tamuno Senior pledged their unalloyed support and loyalty to the chairman and thanked all for giving them the mandate to serve the people.
In their separate speeches, the former Managing Director of Oil and Gas free zone, Hon Victor Alabo, the State Financial Secretary of PDP, Hon Tonye Aberenika, the Secretary of PDP in Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area, Chief Faith Amaso, a former Vice Chairman of the Council, Chief Anthony Ibifuro Tamunonime advised the members to work as a team to sustain the tempo.
Collins Barasimeye
