Commissioner Lauds BoPP Over Order, Accountability In Govt

sioner For Transport, Deacon Akie Dagogo Fubara has lauded the state Bureau on Public Procurement (POPP) for instillins order and accountability in government’s business.
Deacon Fubara, who stated this at a workshop organized by the Bureau at its office in Port Harcourt last Thursday, described the Public Procurement Law as important and fundamental in the achievement of probity in government business.
He remarked that the workshop had given the ministries and parastatals an insight into public procurement law of the state.
According to him, “one will not know much about the body, until one participates in the series of workshops organized by it.”
DCN. Fubara commend BOPP for its enlightenment which he said would go a long way in establishing probity.
Speaking earlier, the Public Relations Manager of the body, Soye Opuiyo, explained that the workshop was aimed at ensuring compliance with the public procurement law.
She said the bureau had been organizing public enlightenment workshops for ministries, government agencies and parastatals.
Opuiyo noted that the enlightenment had organized by the body hud started to stimulate compliance with BOPP law and pointed out that the compliance level was increasing by the day.
She encouraged all those engaged in doing government business to comply with the law.
The workshop had the permanent secretaries of Ministries of Transport, Sports and Youth Development in attendance.
