Attempted Murder: Appeal Court To Hear Lloyd’s Motion, Nov

The Appeal Court sit
ting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital, has reserved November 2nd, 2016 to begin the hearing notice on the Appeal brought by the former Leader of Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon Chidi Llyod against the state government over his re-arraignment before a State High Court.
The Appeal Court also directed both counsels in the matter, Emmanuel Aguma (SAN) for the state government and Beluolisa Nwofor (SAN) for the former House Leader to ensure that they reply and respond to their various briefs before the adjourned date as the court would take the whole process of the matter on that day.
The trial judge, Justice Theresa Orji Abadua gave this order at the resumption of the matter at the appellant court, yesterday in Port Harcourt adding that the court would begin the formal hearing of the appeal before the court on November 2nd, 2016.
Justice Abadua further directed the state Attorney-General and State Commissioner for Justice, Emmanuel Aguma (SAN) to ensure he replies the appeallant brief as well as a written application for extention of time, adding that the court would take the whole motion on the adjourned date.
The former Leader of the state House of Assembly is challenging the state government for the re introduction of the matter before a state High Court without a hearing notice served on him.
Speaking to journalists at the court premises, the appeallant counsel, Beluolisa Nwofor (SAN), said he was satisfied with the count’s decision to begin the proper appeal notice adding that they were ready to commence the matter.
