Anambra Set To Begin Work On Workers’ Housing Units
The Anambra State
Government says it is set to begin the construction of 1000 housing units for workers in the state.
The State Governor, Willie Obiano, who made this disclosure at an event to mark this year’s African Public Service Day, said work at the Isiagu site in Awka South Local Government Area of the state would soon begin.
Obiano stated that the government has received assurances from the contractor handling the project that no less than 200 houses would be ready within one year.
He noted that all payments to enhance the commencement of the project have been made by the government, reasoning that the contractor has no excuse to delay the commencement of work.
He assured that workers’ welfare remain a frontline charge for the Anambra State government and underscored the need for the civil servants to be acquainted with the development agenda of the government.
