200 Pensioners Die Over Starvation In Imo

Following the inability of
the Imo State Government to pay pension as at when due, about 200 retired civil servants have died through starvation and inability to afford medications.
Chairman, Association of Retired Permanent Secretaries of Imo State, Chief Hyacinth Onyekwere, made the assertion, while briefing newsmen in Owerri, the Imo State capital.
Onyekwere, said between November 2011 till date, 12 retired permanent secretaries have died as a result of non-payment of pension to enable them feed and buy their medications.
