Wike’s Aide Hails Prevailing Peace In Rivers
The Special Adviser to
the Rivers State Governor on Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Affairs, Barrister Aribitor Okiri, has expressed delight over the prevailing peaceful environment in the State.
Okiri, who stated this while speaking with journalists during the Muslim celebration of Eid-el-Kabir in Port Harcourt on Monday said the peaceful environment had enabled Muslims in the state to celebrate and thank God for His mercy and favour in their lives.
He urged Muslims to pray for the nation as well as those in positions of authority and to emulate the exemplary conduct of Prophet Abrahim and his son, Ishmael as contained in the Holy Koran.
Okiri further advised all to demonstrate love, live in peace and promote the good governance in the state, and commended Governor Nyesom Wike for the prevailing peaceful atmosphere and the numerous achievements so far recorded within the period.
He however debunked a statement that this year’s Hajj was politicised, pointing out that the government of Rivers State under Governor Nyesom Wike sponsored 100 Muslims in the state to the Holy Land.
He described the Governor as a de-tribalised leader and called on all to support the Governor to make life more meaningful for everybody in the state.
He thanked Governor Wike for the number of slots given to Muslims in the state to participate in the Hajj and expressed optimism that the gesture would enhance their spiritual growth.
