Stay Away From Rivers, CP Warns IPOB

The Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Francis Mobalaji Odesanya has warned members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to steer clear of the State or be prepared to face the might of the force.
The State Commissioner of Police gave this warning while briefing journalists in his office yesterday on the preparedness of the Police to confront members of the IPOB in their nation-wide protest in the State today.
Odesanya, used the opportunity to call on parents and guardians in the State to call their children to order, adding that the Police has all it takes to confront them.
According to him, the Police was on top of the threat, adding that they were in control of the situation.
“We are on top of the situation, I don’t want to reveal thenitty-gritty there is no need to fear. We have the experience to encounter them”, he said.
He disclosed that the command will raise the bar of security in the state in that regard.
The State CP urged residents of the State to go about their normal duties, as according to him, there was nothing to fear.
He disclosed that the Police will apply the rule of engagement in line with the best International standard during the period.
It would be recalled that the IPOB had threatened to stage a nation wide protest today in solidarity with Nnamdi Kanu, who is currently in prison and standing trial on treasonable felony charges before an Abuja High Court.
