Police Nab Suspected Killers Of Atsuete …As CP Visits Muslim Worship Centres

The Rivers State Police
says it has arrested some suspects in connection with the killing of a Port Harcourt-based lawyer and human rights activist, late Barr Ken Atsuete, last month.
The state Commissioner of Police, CP Francis Mobolaji Odesanya disclosed this while responding to questions from journalists during a press briefing held in Port Harcourt on Monday.
The CP who did not mention the number of suspects arrested however said he was not ready to divulge further information on the matter.
He averred that investigation was on-going on the matter and added that the alleged suspects arrested in connection with the murder had given useful information to the police.
Meanwhile, the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, CP Francis Mobalaji Odesanya has visited some selected Muslim worship centres across the state.
Areas visited by the CP and his team during the Sallah celebration include GRA, Township and Shark Stadium worship centres.
Speaking to journalists later, CP Odesanya said the visit was a unique one in order to re-assure the Muslim faithful in the state of their adequate protection during their festival as well promote the spirit of cohesion and unity among all citizens in the state and the country.
The State Commissioner of Police who is a Christian, however, took time during the visit to ask some of the Muslim worshippers of their challenges in their various worship centres especially in the area of security and urged them to maintain peace with their neighbours.
The CP was accompanied on the visit by the Officer in charge of operations, Command Headquarters PPRO and other tactical unit officers.
