NGO Vows To Check Kidnap,Vandalisation In N’Delta

A Port Harcourt-based
non-governmental organisation, Admiral Porbeni Hero Initiative, says it is out to dissuade youths from kidnapping and pipeline vandalism in the Niger Delta.
The Information was disclosed by the Coordinator of the organisation Mrs. I. B. George in an Interview with The Tide on Monday in Port Harcourt stating that the organisation was formed specifically to empower the youths of the Niger Delta.
Mrs I. B George noted also that on this account, a sensitisation walk on peace in the Niger Delta was carried out in Port Harcourt last weekend with the aim of dissuading social vices among youths.
He siad that the organisation is bent on supporting, encouraging and empowering creative ability from youths.
She also disclosed that the initiative was founded and funded by Rear Admiral Festus Porbeni (rtd) who is the president of the organisation.
It will be recalled that Rear Admiral Festus Porbeni (rtd) was a onetime Chief of Staff, Defence headquarters and also a one time Minister for Transport.
The eleven month old organisation according to the coordinator, Mrs I. B. George has a membership strength of one hundred youths and is open to youth above 16 years in the Niger Delta.
It will also be recalled that the coordinator, Mrs. I.B. George is the host of the “Niger Delta Talk Show with I.B” aired on the Rivers State Television (RSTV) and is aimed at tackling issues in the Niger Delta.
