King Sunny Ade’s Guitar, Clothes Preserved In Arizona Museum
Two-time Grammy
nominee and iconic Juju musician King Sunny Ade is among a selected few of some of the world’s greatest artistes whose musical instruments have been preserved in the hallowed Musical Instrument Museum (MIM) in Phoenix, Arizona, United States of America.
Over the course of a multi-decade career as a pioneer and a major recording artiste with more than 120 albums, KSA is widely considered as one of the most influential artistes of all time. He pioneered modern world music, while remaining true to the juju tradition.
Also preserved for posterity and tourism is the costume of KSA for tourists and visitors to the museum which accommodates not less than 16,000 instruments of great artistes including the piano of the Beatles’ John Lenon, Stradivarius Violin and Taylor Swifts guitar. The King who recently returned from a summer tour of the US, is gearing up to celebrate his 70th birthday this month and his 50 years on stage in December.
