Social networking is a friendly media to interact
and communicate effectively with network friends to reinforce apparent means of communication strategy without bias. It’s a current means of disseminating information to achieve and derive global development for intermediaries at distant destinations.
On the other hand, deceptions and distractions are principal involvement between male and female counterparts for communication, deceiving others on a high rate. Thus, corruption sets in which breeds limitation.
The ancient era was at a poor stage in terms of communication to neighbours at distant places. To trace NITEL phone system and motor transport to disseminate information becomes waste of time and energy as it was rare to come by then. Presently, everybody has a portable phone provided by MTN, Airtell, Glo , Etisalat and other associated communication media.
These global communication strategies have more advantages and disadvantages. One of the disadvantages is unnecessary text messages from these social network and deductions from the credit bill of users. It makes customers to spend money to purchase credit card at random. This brings about discouragement on the part of customers. So, teenagers cannot concentrate on reality of life; enhancing more bribery and corruption.
A prominent story in the book titled ‘A story Before She Died’ by Damian Chukwuemeka confirms more distraction in the social network media today. This story is a concern episode about Nneka and Jude by social networking of Facebook.
It is a colourful story for all and sundry to share the opinion of the author. Accordingly, Nneka (girl friend) has been communicating with Jude (boy friend). So, their interactions were deepened by the Facebook medium. Jude had to invite Nneka for social gettogether in his university. So, she travelled to visit the boyfriend. She dropped at the nearby busy park and Jude rushed to pick her to her university residence, third floor upstairs. She got to the room of Jude in that university, having elegant discussions, giving re-appraisal to such nice decorations, showing the boyfriend was financially good. Later, they satisfied themselves with remarkable sex, which to them was memorable.
Truly, Nneka with the aura of asthma fainted while in bed with Jude; a syndrome of asthma. All attempt to bring her to life proved abortive by Jude. It was a big case as policemen came to the scene to interrogate. When the corpse of Nneka was found outside by the university staff at work, who raised alarm, Jude showed pretence while the university authority interrogated him.
Nneka’s ghost was at work at this juncture as the friend abandoned her outside. It appeared and reappeared to Jude and warned him that he can only be free after tracing her friends in their university that would connect him to the parents for burial. Jude actually linked the friends and they took him to the parent. So, he explained honestly the episode that led to Nneka’s death. Nneka’s ghost came at the scene of the parents’ presence and confirmed the story of Jude.
Teenagers must learn great moral lessons from the story of eager distraction depriving them of real academic standard in higher institutions of learning. ‘More corruptions come through video movie, audio/visual play.
It is neccessary, therefore, that sanctions inform of law should be placed on the modern social networking corrupting our future leaders with more distractions of our teenagers. This can be done by the National Assembly placing restrictions through edicts, laws and other legalities.
The eariler the state and Federal Governments can do this, the better our society can be from more corruptions and distractions particularly now that a new academic session will soon begin.
