Following their 2016
CAF African Women’s Championships draws this past weekend, Banyana Banyana will have a new coach appointed this weekend.
The Sowetan website has it that former Banyana players, Desiree Ellis and Sheryl Botes, are favourites to land the job.
Banyana have no coach thus far after the South African Football Association parted ways with Vera Pauw in the wake of their 2016 Olympics failure.
SAFA Spokesperson Dominic Chimhavi said they were working hard to sort everything related to the coach.
“We are busy putting everything in place‚” said Chimhavi.
“One of the mandates given to Vera by SAFA when we appointed her to the job was to empower someone from within the technical team to take over.”
The draw saw Banyana pitted in Group A against hosts, Cameroon‚ Egypt and Zimbabwe.
Meanwhile, Pauw’s successor is expected to be unveiled after SAFA’s executive meeting on Saturday.
The 2016 tournament is scheduled to start in November 19 in Yaounde until December 03.
