Government has expressed dissatisfaction over the pace of work on the Tam-David West Road formerly known as Obiri Ikwerre-Airport Link Road and the Mgbodo-Choba Road in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of the state.
The Commissioner for Works, Iheanyichukwu Bathuel Harrison, expressed government’s worry during an inspection of some on-going road projects in the state.
Harrison, who expressed concern over the pace of work done so far, called on the contractors handling the projects to speed up work at the sites or face government wrath.
While speaking to some residents of the areas visited, the people expressed pleasure over the on-going road construction in their areas, adding that when completed, the roads will boost the economic viability of their areas in the state.
They thanked the state government for embarking on the roads’ construction despite the lean financial resources of the state, and promised to support every government policy and programme to ensure that the vision of the administration for the people of the state is realised.
The Tide reports that the commissioner, apart from the Tam-David West and Mgbodo-Choba roads, also inspected the Rumuosi-Ozuoba and Rumuaparaeli roads.
