RSG Moves To Tackle Traffic Congestion In PH
In a move aimed at addressing the traffic challenges in some parts of Port Harcourt, especially in front of the Hotel Presidential, the Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, has stated that the government would take immediate action to ensure free flow of traffic by dualising or expanding the roads.
Wike spoke on Friday when he led the Project Manager of Julius Berger, Mr Petr Rafusta and state Commissioner for Works, Architect Harrison Iheanyichukwu, on a feasibility study of the road.
He noted that the dualisation of the road would require the foreign currency dealers in front of Hotel Presidential to be relocated.
The governor also stated that the stretch of Aba Road around Rumuola Flyover would be expanded to improve the free flow of traffic in the area.
Wike also supervised the ongoing reconstruction of Onne Road in GRA, Phase 2, in Port Harcourt.
