Rivers High Court Judges Begin 2016 Vacation

Court judges have commenced the 2016 vacation with effect from Monday, August 1.
The vacation will last for a month and two weeks.
A statement signed by the Deputy Chief Registrar, Administration,  Amoni Davidson (Esq) for the Chief Registrar, High Court, Vivienne-Buzugbe Esq said the annual vacation was in line with Order 4, Rule 4(d) of the High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules 2010.
The statement averred that the vacation would end on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 while normal sitting would resume on Wednesday September 14, 2016.
The statement also said that during the period, Justices E. N. Thompson, I. R. Minakiri, B. G. Diepiri and G. O. Omereji had been appointed as vacation judges and would be sitting during the period to preside over cases that may be filed during the vacation that are urgent and cannot wait till the end of the vacation.
According to the statement, Justices E. N. Thompson and I. R. Minakiri would commence sitting from Monday August 1, 2016 and end on Friday, 19 August while Justices B. G. Diepiri and G. O. Omereji would start sitting on Monday, 22nd August, 2016 and end on Tuesday, the 13th September 2016.
The statement urged litigants and the general public to take note and be guided accordingly as judicial divisions of the High Court of the state would be closed during the period of the vacation.
