The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP in Rivers State has vowed to resist any move by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to officially declare the result of the suspended Tai Local Government rerun poll.

The PDP State Publicity Secretary, Mr Samuel Nwanosike said in a press briefing in Port Harcourt, Wednesday that  the All Progressives Congress (APC) description of the court order restraining INEC from announcing the result of the Tai rerun poll as worthless is meaningless and must be obeyed.

“An order of a competent court of jurisdiction must be obeyed no matter whoever is involved. If INEC or APC  refuses to obey court order Nigerians will wait to see how far they can go”, Nwanosike said.

Noting that the problem with APC is that they want to achieve success through the backdoor, the PDP spokesman lambasted a defeated APC lawmaker, Mr Chidi Lloyd for his uncomplimentary remarks on the leadership style of Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike.

“Governor Wike will remain focused and undistracted in delivering democracy dividends to the people of the state irrespective of the antics of some disgruntled elements.

“They said Rivers State is insecure, but the world has seen their lies about ‘Rivers of blood’ especially against the backdrop of several events and conferences that have been peacefully hosted by the state government.

“The economy of the state has been growing with improvement in infrastructure under Wike as against what Rotimi Amaechi did by selling valuable assets of the state like Waterline House, Olympia Hotel, gas plant and several others within one week”, Nwanosike stated.
