Ojukaye’s Bail Application Hearing Begins, Sept 19

The Appeal Court sit
ting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, says it will on September 19, 2016 begin  consolidated hearing on the  bail application of the embattled former Chairman of Asari-Toru Local Government   Area of Rivers State, Mr. Ojukaye Flag-Amachree.
The appeallant court  led by  Justice L. Garba, took the position during the resumption of the matter at the weekend.
Justice Garba while responding to the motion for extension of  time brought  by the  state Attorney-General  and Commissioner for Justice, Hon Emma  Aguma (SAN) to enable the state reply the applicant’s  application told the court during the sitting that they needed time to file their reply on the bail application.
However, the applicant’s Counsel, Sabastine Hon (SAN) urged the court to grant a short period of time, adding that the motion was for the defence counsel to buy time.
The trial judge, Justice L. Garba after listening to the arguments of the counsels ruled that the court will  consolidate the motions on the next adjourned date  and urged them to ensure that they comply with the directive of the court.
It would be recalled that Mr. Ojukaye has been in prison custody since April this year for alleged murder  of one Smart Soberekon in Buguma in 2015.
