NBA’s AGC ’ll Be Splendid In PH – Lawyer

A Port Harcourt based
lawyer and human rights crusader, Barr.Chinonye Okaha, has said that  lawyers are looking forward to a splendid Annual General Conference in Port Harcourt because the Sate Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike is a lawyer.
Barr. Okoha, who stated this while chatting with newsmen in Port Harcourt on Monday noted that Governor Wike had demonstrated in no small way that he loved his profession.
According to him, “when Wike came on board as the State Governor, he inherited a moribund judicial system but kudos to him that courts were re-opened, Chief Judge of the state and the president of the Customary Court of Appeal were appointed”.
“Also he is building a befitting edifice for the Nigeria Bar Association, Port Harcourt when you look at what he has done so far for the BAR, you will have a  reason to commend him”, the lawyer stated.
He said that the NBA had always been treated  well in Port Harcourt but expressed belief that Governor Wike would do more given his antecedents.
Barr. Okoha noted that the AGC that was held in Port Harcourt some years ago pulsated with heavy traffic jam.
He said that AGC which would start on the 19th of August, 2016, is expected to be free in terms of traffic jam following the exploits done by the present administration in terms of road building and maintenance.
Barr. Okoha expressed optimism that the 2016 AGC would impact on the layers output and skills.
He called on the Federal Government to grant full autonomy to judiciary in order for it to operate maximally.
