An appeal has gone to
the State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike to rehabilitate the Nvike/Rumuokwurushi road in order to boost activities in the area.
The Eze Oha Okporo Okwurusi, Eze Morgan N. Amadi made the appeal while speaking with newsmen recently at Okporo in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.
He noted that the road has now become impassable due to the level of dilapidation.
Eze Amadi pointed out that the poor state of the road had forced some shop-owners and taxi drivers to relocate to viable places as a result of low patronage.
According to him, the road which is a feeder road between Rumuokwurushi and Okporo community is gradually closing in due to lack of maintenance.
He reasoned that the road has an economic potent power capable of increasing the business life of the people upon completion.
Describing governor Wike as a construction man, he said that his people were in a hurry to witness his presence in the area.
He further appealed to the governor to fix the Okporo Community Primary School which he said was in a terrible state of disrepair.
He said that the appeal had become imperative, considering the high cost of sending their children and wards to private schools.
Also speaking, the Chairman, Okporo Okani-Eli Okwurusi Kingdom Council of Chiefs/Owhor holders, Chief Eugene M. Elewa who also regretted the hardship both the dilapidated road had caused the community, called on the state government to come to their aid.
