Two Nigerians living in New Delhi, India have been arrested by the Cyber Crime wing of Cyberabad police for allegedly cheating a woman by promising her a job with Qatar Airways.
The two suspects were arrested on Saturday.
Their victim had last month received an email from: qatarhsconsultantjob@gmail.com informing her about a job opportunity with Qatar Airways for the post of assistant manager with a salary of £7,900.
On the same day, the victim received a telephone call from the two. They asked her to deposit 25,000 Rupees in a particular bank account.
“She deposited the amount in the given account and, the same day, she received another email saying that they have deposited £50,000 in RBS and sent to local branch.
“Further, they asked her to deposit an amount of 45,000 Rupees in SBI A/c No. 20279674949 of Sumi Holi with IFSC code SBIN0012267. The victim believed and made the payment,” the investigating officers said.
