Heartland In Discussion With European Investors
Heartland Chairman,
Goodfaith Etuemene, has opened discussions with a Polish club as regards a partnership with similar meetings scheduled in Germany, Czech Republic and Turkey.
According to Heartland, Etuemene has reported good progress after he met with Sylwiusz Mucha –Orlinski, the president of MKS Znicz Pruszkow FC of Poland.
“Etuemene is on a journey that is taking him from the city of Manchester in the UK to Germany, Poland, Czech Republic and Turkey where he has been meeting some of Europe’s club owners and potential investors in the hope of formalising a relationship that can change the financial fortunes of ‘The Naze Millionaires,” the statement read.
“On arrival in Warsaw, Poland on Friday and Saturday, Etuemene held fruitful discussions with MKS Znicz Pruszkow officials which when actualized, could open an easier gate-way of European club transfers for future Heartland players. To us, this is a positive development.”
MKS Znicz Pruszkow are the former club of current Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandoski as well as former Nigeria international, Ifeanyi Ekwueme.
Heartland, one of Nigeria’s top clubs – languish at the lower rung of the premier league table this season but the recent move by the new chairman will no doubt inspire hope and confidence in the team to fight to escape relegation.
The Owerri club are billed to travel to Port Harcourt on Wednesday for a date with Rivers United in a Week 29 match of the Nigeria Premier League.
