C’River: Agric Boss Harps On Team Work

The Special Adviser to
the Governor of Cross River on Agriculture, Mrs. Yvonne Idem, has solicited the cooperation of staff of her office and stakeholders in the Agricultural sub-sector to enable her deliver the mandates of her office for the benefits of the citizenry.
She stated this, in a one-day sensitisation programme organised by her office at the Conference Hall of the Cross River Agricultural Development Programme (CRADP), Calabar.
Mrs. Idem lauded Governor Ben Ayade for the opportunity given her to serve the people and noted that, it was imperative to organise the forum as a means of meeting with all stakeholders in Agriculture.
She maintained that her mandate as Special Adviser to the Governor on Agriculture included; to advise the Governor on all areas of agriculture and agribusiness in the State, collaborate with local, national and International Agencies on Agricultural activities in the State, assist the Governor to achieve his Agric signature projects, among others.
The Special Adviser called on staff of her office to develop a positive attitude towards work, act as change agent and be willing to learn new skills as well as respect one another, be honest and cooperate with one another.
In his remarks, the Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Prof. Anthony Eneji, represented by the Director of Administration, Dr. Francis Adie, thanked the SA for organising the sensitisation programme for stakeholders in the Agricultural sector.
The commissioner noted that, with agriculture, the entire problems of mankind can be solved, including hunger, sickness and technology.
On her part, the State Director, Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Dr. (Mrs.) Bassey Asibong noted that, the mandate of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture was to collaborate  with the state Ministry of Agriculture and its agencies towards making food available to the people.
Dr. Asibong gave the assurance that, her office would continue to play an active role in the state, since all agricultural policies of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture were implemented by the State Ministry of Agriculture.
