Cleric Urges Families To Embrace God
Christians have been told to be steadfast in God and make Him the centre of their spiritual exercise when confronted with issues of fertility, adoption and violence in their families.
The cleric in charge of the First Baptist Church, Aggrey Road in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Rev. Isaiah David gave the advice while speaking during a programme organised by the Couples & Lawyers Forum of the church, with the theme, “Contemporary Issues in the Family, Fertility, Adoption and Violence” held at the Church Auditorium recently.
Rev. David who took his message from the book of 1Peter 5:7-9 urged Christian families to make God the centre of their homes, saying it is only exercising true faith in God that contemporary issues of life will be surmounted.
He described the theme of the lecture as apt, adding that it addressed the major issues affecting most families in the society.
The man of God commended the Couples & Lawyers Fellowship for oganising the programme which according to him would be of benefit to the Church, noting that most Christians had made mistakes in search of children.
Rev. Isaiah opined that the solution to fertility, adoption and violence was total dependence on God and urged the participants to put what they learnt into practice in order to reposition their families for the true worship of God.
Also speaking, the President of Couples & Lawyers Fellowship of the Church, Mrs Ibiyingibo Amachree explained that the programme was organized to educate members on how to address the problems of fertility, adoption and violence that had brought sadness to some Christian families.
The lecture on Fertility, Adoption and Violence was jointly delivered by Dr. Egbu and Mrs Aguma.
