WASH Project: Commissioner Inaugurates Media Network

missioner for Water Resources and Rural Development, Hon. Ibiba Walter, has inaugurated the Rivers State Media Network for improved reportage of UNICEF/Government Assisted WASH project in the state.
The inauguration was the outcome of a two day workshop for media personnel in the state organised by the United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF) in Port Harcourt.
The Commissioner who was represented by the Director of Administration of the Rivers State Rural Water and Sanitation Agency (RUWASSA), Amadi Jonathan charged the group to ensure that the activities of the Agency is given adequate publicity.
Parts of the terms of reference includes, the promotion of UNICEF/State Government’s visibility on contributions leading to the realisation of agreed WASH out comes for children’s rights to survival and development in the Rivers State context for possible scale up promoting information on display of commitment leading to the realisation of child rights through partnership in WASH programming as well as the participation in WASH commemorated events such as, the World Water Day, Global Hand Washing day amongst others.
Chairman of the Network, Pastor Paulinus Nsirim thanked UNICEF for the gesture, stressing the Network will do its best to project the activities of RUWASSA in the state.
