Tam-George Faults Abe’s Allegations Against Wike
The Rivers State Government has faulted All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Rivers South-East Senatorial District rerun election, Magnus Ngei Abe’s allegations against the state Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, as baseless and lacking merit.
In a statement, the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Dr Austin Tam-George, said in Port Harcourt, that the allegations were a figment of the imagination of the often-defeated APC candidate, having been rejected by his Ogoni kinsmen.
The statement reads: “Faced with his imminent defeat in the forthcoming legislative rerun polls in Rivers State, Senator Magnus Abe has started a campaign of calumny and vilification against Governor Nyesom Wike and INEC officials in Rivers State.
“Senator Abe’s latest allegation that Governor Wike had a previous business relationship with the current INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner in Rivers State is a grotesque fabrication.”
Tam-George emphasised that, “Governor Wike categorically denies any form of business association with any INEC officials, in the past or at present.
“Like all Nigerians, the people of Rivers State have seen through the intricate web of propaganda and deception of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“Senator Abe will be a casualty of his own falsehood and desperation on election day in July, as the people pass their judgement,” he added.
