RSG Plans Two Hotels For NGS

Post Primary Schools Board (PPSB), Chief David Briggs, has stated that the proposed two new hostel blocks for Nyemoni Grammar School (NGS), Abonnema, to be built by the state government, will be completed in four months.
The post-primary schools board chairman stated this on Monday during the ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of the two new hostel buildings in Abonnema in Akuku Toru Local Government Area.
According to him, “the building must have alignments”, and as chairman of the PPSB, which is the supervising body for the construction of the buildings, I will ensure that there is sufficient space for activities for students when it is in use”.
Chief Briggs used the opportunity to thank the Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike for extending the development of schools, to Nyemoni Grammar School and making PPSB the supervisor.
Performing the ground-breaking ceremony, the State Commissioner for Education, Professor Kaniye Ebeku said he was delighted that schools that were abandoned for years were being rehabilitated by the Governor Wike-led administration.
According to the commissioner, the construction of two hostels is in furtherance of His Excellency, Governor Nyesom Wike’s decision to return state schools to full boarding status”.
He recalled that Nyemoni Grammar School was one of the schools chosen for renovation and upgrading for the purpose of bringing back schools to boarding status of old, describing NGS as one of the oldest and most prominent schools in the state”.
“Governor Wike has come to do what many Governors have not accepted to do, and so this event is a great event”, he said.
The two hostel blocks are for boys and girls.
