RSG Issues 200 C of Os …As Gov’s Aide Receives Award

The Rivers State Government
has so far processed and issued out 200 Certificates of Occupancy (C of Os) to land owners across the state.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Land Matters, Sir Anugbum Onuoha disclosed this while receiving an award of “Ambassador of Peace” by the Universal Peace Federation in his office recently.
Onuoha said the government had within its one year in office, made it easier for land owners to process and obtain their Certificate of Occupancy though the Ministry of Lands and Survey, which according to him had been a difficult task before the government came on board.
“The Ministry of Lands and Survey with directive of His Excellency, Chief Nyesom Wike Governor of the state has ordered for the immediate elimination of unnecessary bottlenecks in the issuance of Certificate of Occupancy in the state”, he hinted.
The Governor’s aide noted that he would consolidate on the Peace agenda already established by the Federation to Promote Peace in Rivers state, and enjoined them to join hands with the governor Nyesom Wike led administration to let the world know that Rivers State is peaceful to do business.
He assured that for the peace advocacy group to found him worthy of such auspicious award would spur him to continue the evangelism of peace in the state and also thanked them for the globally recognized ‘Peace Ambassador Award”.
Earlier, the state secretary of the group, Ambassador Lawson Abel onbehalf of the members said the awardees deserved the ambassadorial honour because of his track records in several criteria, adding, “what informed us to honour him with such a high award was borne out of his contributions to peace in the state especially in the area of youth empowerment”.
They described Sir Onuoha as a man shield with integrity and honour, stressing that his exemplary lifestyle had won him the award, and opined that the body is an affiliate of the United Nations peace programme saddled with responsibility of peace building across the globe, that recognizes efforts of individuals who had engender peace within his reach at any given territory.
