Pro-Active Policing: Enugu CP Urges Synergy

missioner of Police, Mr Emmanuel Ojukwu, has called for closer synergy among the police, the media and public for the state to reap the benefits of pro-active policing.
Ojukwu told newsmen in Enugu that such a synergy would help in tracking and reducing criminal activities in the state.
The commissioner said that operatives of the Federal Highway Patrol at the border between Enugu and Abia states on Enugu-Port Harcourt Road recently arrested three notorious armed robbery suspects in Nsukka with some weapons from them.
He said that the command had vigorously embarked on crime prevention anchored on application of relevant pro-active policing measures, which, he said was already yielding results.
“The priority of the command is to make Enugu State safe and secured through relevant partnership.
“We want to thank the operatives, the media and the members of the public for their partnership so far, which is already yielding results.
“I have already charged the police operatives in the state to increase their tempo of robust crime prevention through relevant crime prevention strategies anchored on pro-active policing,’’ he said.
Ojukwu said that the state police command had effected some arrests through pro-active policing method of crime prevention.
He added that the suspects had begun to assist the operatives in their investigations.
“We will continue to sensitise the members of the public to be security conscious and work closer with us to make Enugu State safer and secured,’’ he added.
