Police Nab Cult Kingpin In Etche

napping unit of Rivers State Police Command have arrested  a kingpin of Deygbam cult group Mr. Emeka Egbule  popularly called “Ota Bread” that is among the cult gang terrorizing Obibi community and its environs.
Mr Emeka Egbule is  alleged to be one of  the  dreaded Deygbam cult group and had been on the wanted list of the police for an alleged  murder of one late Chimezie  Anucha and one Apostolic Pastor all in Obibi.
A source told The Tide that the suspected cultist  was arrested  at Okehi Etche on Friday  during the PDP campaign rally.
According to a soruce, the suspect who was wearing military boot did not know  he was being trailed  by police detectives who came to keep surveillance at the campaign ground.
The Tide learnt that some politicians from the area were making frantic efforts to get him released from the police  custody before the  July 30th re-run elections in the state an effort  which  the police had vowed to resist.
The Tide learnt  that the suspect  was among the five dreaded leaders  of the Deygbam  group in Etche popularly called “Aka 5fingers.
The Deygbam  cult operations and activities had devastated and crumbled economic  activities in  Etche in recent time. Many indigenes of the area  especially the nine villages in Obibi community have abandoned their  homes and have been in exile  for the past three years.
Many Etche people have lauded men of the state police  command for the arrest and urged  them especially, the commander of the Anti-kidnapping unit to  resist any attempt  by politicians to release him but to ensure that  justice  was done especially for those the suspect and his gang had killed.
When  contacted, the spokes person of state police command ASP Nnamdi Omoni Confirmed the arrest .
