Police Kill Three Robbers In Rivers
As part of its effort
to fight crimes and other social vices in Rivers State, the men of anti-kidnapping unit of the Rivers State police command have killed three robbers within the GRA areas of the state, while two escaped with bullets wound on Monday.
The State Commissioner of Police, CP Foluso Adebanjo while briefing journalists on the incident at the Police Officers Mess in Port Harcourt on Monday said the killing of the three armed robbers gang was to send a signal to other gangs that, the state was not safe for them.
CP Adebanjo disclosed that the defunct three man armed robbery gang specialised in snatching cars as well as kidnapping people within the GRA and other parts of the country.
According to him, the success was part of the new strategies put in place by his administration in the command to ensure that the state was peaceful and safe for investors and other residents to live and carry out their legitimate duties.
The state police boss used the opportunity to reiterate his earlier warning to the criminals in the state to repent or be prepared to face the music and added that the police and other security operatives in the state has all it takes to chase the criminals out of the state.
He used the opportunity to call on the people of the state to have confidence in the police and cooperate with it through giving of timely information
